Jesse Soloman Obituary

Jesse Soloman Sr. November 5, 1945 - April 19, 2004 COLUMBUS, GA - Jesse Solomon Sr., 58, of 281 32nd Avenue, Columbus, died Monday, April 19 at his residence. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, April 24 at Twenty-Fourth Street Baptist Church with Pastor Xavier Maddox officiating. Burial will follow in Green Acres Cemetery, according to Hill-Watson Memorial Chapel, 2919 Hamilton Road. Visitation will be today from 1 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home with a family hour from 6 to 7 p.m. Mr. Solomon was born Nov. 5, 1945 in Columbus, the son of the late Sadie Mae Tolbert Solomon and the Reverend Peter Paul Solomon. He retired as a custodian for the Muscogee County School District and was a member of Twenty-Fourth Street Baptist Church. Mr. Solomon was predeceased by his wife, Diane Evans Solomon. Survivors include his children: Jesse J. (Yvonne) Solomon Sr., of Columbus, Tabatha (James) Forte of Tampa, Fla., Alfred (Tiffany) Solomon of Tallahassee, Fla., George Scott of Columbus, Jeff Scott of Miami, Fla., Jerome Solomon and Sheren Scott , both of Columbus; brothers, Gene (Juanita) Solomon, Willie (Faye) Solomon, both of Columbus, Aaron Solomon of Atlanta, Ga., and Peter Paul Solomon of Philadelphia, Pa.; sisters, Mary Lee York, Sadie Pondexter, Roberta (Zeddie) Price, all of Columbus, Ida Griggs of Phenix City, Louise (Bryan) Stevens of LaGrange, Ga.; 17 grandchildren and one great grandchild; an uncle, Matthew Johnson of Columbus; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
