Coach Averett was the best teacher ever and he will truly be missed. I will never forget how much of an impact he had on my life! If it wasnt for him I probably never would have had the opportunity to learn to drive and get practice. I will also never forget when he gave us his number and told us that if we ever needed anything that we could call him! He inspired me to be a teacher because I want to inspire and make an impact on childrens lives the way he did mine. R.I.H. Coach Averett you will be missed and never forgotten!

I would like to say Mr.Averett was a good man.Every morning he saw me he would shake my hand and give me a hug and say "HOW YOU DOING YOUNG PASTOR" and every time you saw him he had a smile on his face. He always just smiled and everyday i go down to his classroom he was my motivator. He's truly gonna be missed

Buddy (Jimmy) was a college friend, best man in my wedding, and longtime friend for over 40 years. A Christian, loved the Lord and his family and a man of God. He was compassionate, a good listener and provided wise counsel. We would talk often and reminisce of our college days and our Christian walk. We talked about this day, that this journey would end soon and we would be in the presence of The Lord Jesus Christ for ever. Christians leave the tent (body) that they are housed in, but the body and spirit will unite again in the last day or in the day the Lord Jesus returns. I can imagine seeing Jimmy at Hallelujah Square praising the God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Miss you my friend, rest in peace.
