Dear Earnest and Katherine,
I do not have words to express my sorrow for your loss, nor can I tell you how grateful I am for the wonderful daughter you raised. Thank you for loving Kelly Katherine so well. Thank you for showing her the truth so that she in turn could show that truth to others. Mikey saw Jesus in Kelly, and now he walks as she walked ... with his face toward the light. May the peace that surpasses all understanding be with the two of you as well as your other three beautiful children. You are all in my prayers.

I didn't know Kelly very well. She was in my first block class. She always had a smile on her face and a happy aura. The Thursday before the accident she let me look at her prom pictures. I talked to her more that day than any other. I thought to myself I think I'll try to get to know her better. My only regret is that I didn't realize sooner that I wanted to know her. I'm sure she would have brightened my life as she obviously brightened everyone she knew.
God be with you and give you peace. You're in our hearts and prayers.

I have known Kelly for a very long time. I know that she is now in heaven looking down on us and smiling. She accomplished many things throughout her lifetime. I had some classes with her this year and everyday she would walk in smiling. She is going to be missed greatly. The family is in my prayers and my condolences go out to them.

I didn't know Kelly very well, but through classes we had together over the years, she was always a happy cheerful person. She always had a smile on her face no matter what. Her smile will be missed very much. She was always the type of person, that no matter who she was with in the halls, she would always smile and say "hey". She always brightened the room. I want you to know what a wonderful daughter you have and what a great Christian example she was to me. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

My story of Kelly is one of heavenly power...I started going to Smiths Station High School when I was in the 8th grade. I had just moved here from Illinois and I didn't fit in too well because I was from the North and people up there are, as you can imagine, are a whole lot different than the people in Smiths Station, Alabama. Don't get me wrong, I wasn't hated or disliked or anything, I just simply wasn't popular. I would often see a smiling blonde haired girl walking down the hallwall with the happiest aura around her. She saw me walking in the hallwall and as I passed she said, "Hi! You're name is Justiss right?!" I was overcome with feelings of joy and hope that this school year would work out after all. I didn't know then what to say to this whole-hearted angel, I just simply nodded and swiftly moved away. This relationship of kindness ensued into my highschool years. This sweet innocent girl would look at me through her blue eyes and sweetly ask me how my day was. I will never forget Kelly Pierce. Although she is not here physically, her memory and love remains forever imprinted on my heart. She was an amazing girl and noone on the face of this earth can ever replace her. I just hope that one day when I meet her again in celestial glory, I will be able do more than nod at her...I will rejoice in the praises of God and Christ with her. I'm so sorry for your loss, please accept my condolences and call me if you need ANYTHING at (334) 448-3877. All my love and God bless!

Although I go to SSHS, I didn't know Kelly personally, but I know many who did and I saw her often around the campus. From talking with them, I know that she was a wonderful person who will be greatly missed. I can't think of one time seeing her that she wasn't smiling. I can't imagine what it is like to lose a family member so suddenly, especially someone so young. All I can say is remember that she is in a better place now and I'm sure nobody will ever forget her.
Sincerely, Brian

I wanted to send my sincerest condolences in your recent loss. I had the joy and pleasure of teaching Kelly and I can honestly say that she was one of the sweetest people I knew. There are not enough words to describe how special Kelly truly was. She not only touched my life but the lives of so many students at SSHS. I hope and pray that God will give you peace, comfort, and strength as you begin the healing process in the death of a loved one. It warms my heart to know that Kelly is with THE PERFECT ONE and that I have an angel on my side by the name of Kelly Katherine Pierce.

I know David Lynn, Kelly's uncle, who lives in Panama City. My husband works with David - we were so very sorry to hear of Kelly's tragic death. I just want the family to know that my family has walked in your shoes. I lost my baby brother tragically at the age of 20. It is so hard to not keep from asking God "Why". We may never know while we are on this earth, but God sees and knows the great big picture. What sometimes makes no earthly sense to us is known to God. The pain is deep - it will feel as though it may consume you at times - but just remember that God is our refuge, our help, or strength in times of trouble. To the siblings I give what comfort I can in saying that I know your pain. If I could lift it from your family I would. In looking back I have discovered a positive from my pain and that is that through our sorrow we can comfort others - only when we have walked where another has walked can we know, can we feel, and can we relate to the loss. May God bless and keep Kelly's family. Grow in his grace - love those you have left - appreciate what each day brings. And I can say that you will heal - life will become okay for you again. Kelly is unique - she can never be replaced - but she is now "sheltered in the arms of God". Gone from you today - but with you for eternity in God's heavenly home.

Dear Katherine, Ernest, your children, Aunt Martha and all of your children, and family; and all of Kelly's friends:
There are no words to express my sorrow and motherly feelings of loss that I feel for you and your family and friends over the death of Kelly. All I can say is to feel yourself wrapped in the arms of God and his Angels. Let Him have your pain and grief and feelings of helplessness and utter sorrow. God must have needed Kelly mighty badly to have taken her from you now. She will always live on in your hearts. She will always be smiling upon you, her love surrounding your hearts. She would want you to keep her memory close, and to keep loving all of those around you also.
In His Name,
Love,
Susan H. Knight (cousin to Katherine Pierce)
