Columbus, GA- Miss LaToya Taranji Nassy passed away peacefully Friday at the age of 34 at Columbus Hospice.
The beloved daughter of Mr. Michael Edgar Nassy and Mrs. Barbara King of Columbus, LaToya was a Columbus native who was a 2002 graduate of Kendrick High School. She also attended Columbus Technical College. LaToya was a member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church, and was employed as a manager at Papa John's. She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Johnny King, Sr and Edgar Nassy; and an Uncle Glenn King.
Survivors, other than her parents, include: a very loving and devoted son, JaiQuan Terrell Upshaw; a brother, DeAndrea King; her grandmothers, Pearlena King and Doreen Nassy; aunts and uncles, Johnny King, Jr., Joseph Nassy, Drexyl Sampson, Arlene Adams, Tracy Boynton, Connie Oestricher, and Wendy Prescott ; the father of her son, Anthony Upshaw; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
The Homegoing Celebration for Miss Nassy will be held Saturday, November 4, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church with Pastor Ken Jelks officiating. Interment at Evergreen Memorial Park. Visitation is Friday, 3 til 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Condolences may be expressed at progressivefuneralhome.com. Progressive Funeral Home,Inc.
