Linda Peacock Obituary

Linda Allen Peacock

January 13, 1948 - July 22, 2025

Orlando, Florida - On Tuesday morning, July 22, Linda passed from the loving arms of her family into the loving arms of her Heavenly Father. "When I can neither see, nor hear, nor speak, still I can pray so that God can hear. When I pass through the valley of the shadow of death, I expect to be in constant conversation with Him." Linda, "Nunni" was born on January 13, 1948 in Columbus, Georgia to Mr. Thomas Harold Allen and Mrs. Betty Kirkland Allen. A lover of the arts, she was a passionate and gifted ballet, toe, and tap dancer, a dance teacher, model, and political campaigner. She competed in many beauty and talent competitions and was runner up in the National Miss Junior Achievement Pageant. She was a lover of the written word and a gifted orator. She was a true beauty on the inside and out. Her love of life and Christ exuded in all she did. Her strength and wisdom made her a true force of nature. Her character, love and loyalty for her loved ones was awe-inspiring. "Oh glorious truth that we are an indispensable part of the great plan and program of the Father."

One of her many passions was mentoring mothers in Mom to Mom at First Baptist Church of Orlando. This great spiritual and larger than life legacy Linda passed on to her children, grandchildren and great grandchild. Linda attended high school in Columbus, Georgia and Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia. There, in Macon, she met Robert "Topper" William Peacock, Jr. After Topper finished law school they moved to Orlando, Florida. Topper and Linda were married for 57 years. They shared a love of travel, family, and hosting family and friends at their farm in Georgia. Their home was a refuge to their family and friends alike. Linda was a member of Junior League, a commercial real estate agent, and a substitute teacher. She modeled for many boutiques along Park Avenue in Winter Park, Florida. Linda was a member of First Baptist Church of Orlando for over 35 years and at the time of her passing, was a Covenant Partner at First Presbyterian Church of Orlando. Of her many talents and accomplishments, her greatest joy was her two precious children, her four grandchildren and great-grandchild. "Life in common among those who love each other is the ideal of happiness." Linda is survived by her husband Robert William Peacock, Jr., her daughter Courtney Peacock Pollak (Scott); her son Allen Hargrove Peacock (Courtney); her grandchildren Alexis Linda Santiago; Hunter William Peacock (Katie); Samuel Hargrove Peacock; Wyatt Michael Peacock; great-grandchild, Briar Cloud Peacock; sister Angela Allen Maunakea and loving extended family. Memorial services will be held Saturday, August 23rd at 10:00 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Orlando with Dr. David Swanson and Pastor Jim Henry presiding. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the Arts Fellowship Orlando program at First Presbyterian Church of Orlando.
