Columbus, GA- Mrs. Mattie Louise Blanchard 68, of 3010 Luckie Street, Columbus passed Thursday January 19, 2012 at her residence. Funeral services will be held 12:30 PM Wednesday January 25, 2012 at Faith Tabernacle Community Church 1603 Floyd Road, Columbus with the Pastor Rev. Roy George Plummer officiating. Interment will follow at Main Post Cemetery according to Hill-Watson-People's Funeral Service LLC. Visitation will be from 1:00PM until 6:00PM today Tuesday at the Rose Hill Chapel of Hill-Watson-People's Funeral Service, 2919 Hamilton Road. Mrs. Blanchard was born January 30, 1943 in Salem Alabama daughter of the late Willie Jefferson and Mary Alice Carey. She was a member of Faith Tabernacle Community Church and a retired (LPN)Licensed Practical Nurse with (MACH)Martin Army Community Hospital. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Sebrina Stafford, Columbus; daughter in law, Tania Blanchard, Marietta, GA; sisters, Anita Carey, Columbus; grandchildren, Cherise Johnston, Lenora, Anastasia and Danta Stafford, Steven Blanchard and Mason Blanchard; 13 grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

I'd like to share a memory of my childhood years with my dear sister our family affectionately referred to as "Louise". She, her late husband David and daughter, Sebrina, were stationed at Fort Knox, Kentucky. I spent part of my 7th grade year living with them . I must say they did a great job to care for me! However, I was so homesick, I had to come home before the school year ended.
My sister, your Spirit will always live in my heart through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! Love Always!
