Mattie Lowe Obituary

Mattie Griffin Lowe October 16, 1935- CATAULA, GA— Funeral services for Sister Mattie Griffin Lowe will be Saturday, March 29, 2008 at 11 a.m. at Clowers CME Church in Cataula. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Dewane Crew, pastor, will officiate, according to Kimbrough's Funeral Home. Mattie was born October 16, 1935 in Harris County, GA. She was the daughter of the late Levi and Eva Griffin. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Willie Pearl Carter, Emma Griffin and Virginia Johnson. Matt was a very loving person. She was a member of Clowers CME Church, a graduate of Carver High School. Class of 1953 in Hamilton, GA. She was the widow of Fletcher Lowe. She leaves walking in her footsteps, one son, Levi (Sylvia) Griffin, Germany; one devoted niece, Emma Gene Ogletree, Columbus, GA.; three devoted nephews, Melvin and Willie Griffin, Cataula, GA., James Griffin, LaGrange, GA.; one brother, Davie Bobo (Charlie Mae) Griffin, Cataula, GA.; several other nieces, nephews, cousins, inlaws and relatives. There will be a visitation Friday from 1 until 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
