Columbus, GA- Mrs. Mattie L. Phillips passed away peacefully Tuesday at Magnolia Manor Nursing Facility. She was 96 years of age.
One of fourteen children born to the union of Brady and Ida Kindred, Mrs. Phillips was born in Opelika, AL and was a devout member of Nazareth Baptist Church where she served diligently with the Usher's Ministry. She was employed for many years with Fieldcrest Mills. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nathaniel Phillips, twelve siblings, and her daughter-in-law, Doris Dysick.
Survivors include; her devoted sons, Willie Dysick and Jerry Dysick, Sr.; three grandchildren, Alvin F. Dysick, Sr., Jerry Dysick, Jr. and Terry Dysick; nine great grandchildren; a sister, Morriel Martin; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends.
The Homegoing Celebration for Mrs. Phillips will be held Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the Nazareth Baptist Church with interment in Green Acres Cemetery. Reverend Brandon Isome, pastor will officiate. Visitation is Today, 2 until 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Condolences may be expressed at progressivefuneralhome.com. Progressive Funeral Home, Inc.
