Melvin P. Heller August 30, 1926- February 10, 2006 BOYNTON BEACH, FL— Melvin P. Heller, age 79, father of Columbus real estate agent Victoria Heller, passed away February 10, 2006 from colon cancer at his home in Boynton Beach, Florida after battling the disease for seven years. Funeral services and burial were held on February 12th at Menorah Chapel and Gardens in Palm Beach County, Florida. Melvin Philip Heller was born on August 30, 1926 in Brooklyn, New York to Benjamin and Sarah Heller. He graduated from City College of New York City with a bachelors degree in accounting. In 1952, he married the late Phyllis Rosenstein at the Plaza Hotel in New York City and they had two children. He eventually remarried after Phyllis' untimely death from cancer. During his lifetime, Mr. Heller owned and ran two successful clothing companies....Charmette Lingerie, which manufactured children's pajamas and Arrowear Athletic Apparel, which his son continues to run today. Mr. Heller and his second wife moved from NY to Florida in 1998, where Mr. Heller was an active member of Temple Menorah in Boynton Beach, Florida, as well as being an active participant in various amateur play groups, wherein he wrote and acted in many of his own plays. He loved big band music from the 1940s and had an extensive music collection from that era, and he also did a great deal of research on a phenomenon called Synesthesia, which makes people see and associate different colors with days of the week, months and numbers. He had a quick and clever sense of humor and could come up with a pun at the drop of a hat. He was a mild mannered, nice man and had no enemies....everybody loved him. He is survived by his second wife, his children Victoria and Robert, grandchildren Tanya, Seth, Brett and Craig, and great grandchildren Christian and Samantha, and his sister, Ethel Weprin.
