Columbus, GA- Monika Arthur went home into the arms of Jesus on November 30, 2018. She was born April 30, 1949 in Manheim, Germany to Max and Elizabeth Maier (WWII survivors). Monika eventually immigrated to America where she paved the way for her family to live the "American Dream". She settled with her children in Columbus, GA. and she opened a restaurant named "Moni's Speckmaus". Monika served authentic German food and it quickly became a local favorite. Family was everything to her and she was always there to support and love on her children and many grandchildren. Her wings were ready but our hearts were not. Monika leaves to cherish her precious memories, her children, Marc Arthur, Natascha (Vorocker) Daniel, and Levinia (Robert) Heard; Her Beloved Partner, Carl Nelson; 10 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews family and friends. A celebration of Ms. Monika's life will be held 4:00 p.m. Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Holsey Monumental C.M.E. Church 6028 Buena Vista Road. Columbus, GA. with Rev. Tommie L. Benjamin officiating.
