Cary, NC - Rev. Dr. Terry Thomas, 56, of Cary, NC formerly of Hurtsboro, AL passed Saturday, April 23, 2016 in Cary, NC.
Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. EST (1:00 p.m. CST), Sunday, May 1, 2016 at St. Paul A.M.E. Church, Hurtsboro, AL with Rev. Brandon Thornton, pastor and Dr. T. Nathaniel Hercules, officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation is Sunday, May 1, 2016 from 12:30 - 2:00 p.m. EST (11:30 - 1:00 p.m. CST) at the church according to Taylor Funeral Home, Inc.
Rev. Dr. Thomas was born November 13, 1959 in Hurtsboro, AL to the late Benjamin Thomas and the late Naomi Rowell Thomas.
Survivors include his wife, Valeria Thomas, Cary, NC; three brothers, Benjamin (Betty) Thomas, Jr., Oak Ridge, TN; Daryl (Carolyne) Thomas, Knoxville, TN; Tony (Uche) Thomas, Alpharetta, GA; nine sisters, Teresa (Willie) Jackson, Montgomery, AL; Patricia (Gregory) Goodwin, Hurtsboro, AL; Vickie (Roger) Furman, Southfield, MI; Cathy Hall, Montgomery, AL; Gail Thomas, Rowlette, TX; Annette Thomas, Birmingham, AL; Sandra Walton and Chenequia Simpson, Phenix City, AL; Tonnia Thomas, Charlotte, NC and a host of other relatives and friends.

Pastor Thomas was a mentor, a brother, and a true friend. This has been a painful reality to accept. I thank God for having a good friend like him in my life and he will be truly missed. He was a true friend and it is painful to know that he has transitioned to be with our Savior. Prayers extended to his wife and family.

I am so saddened by the passing of Cousin Terry. When I think of Terry of course the main thing that comes to mind is that incredible laugh and smile and HIS sense of humor. LOL!
Unfortunately I didnt get to spend much time with Terry but he was always the same smiling joyous Terry.
