Columbus, , GA, 31906- Mr. Thomas Lee Mitchell 94, of 2726 Colorado Street, Columbus, passed Tuesday April 19, 2016 at Mid Town Medical Center, Columbus, Ga. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday April 27, 2016 at Allen Temple A.M. E. Church 848 Washington Ave, Columbus, Ga. with Pastor Rev. Wayland Conner Officiating, interment will follow at Everygreen Memorial Garden St. Mary Road Columbus, Ga. according to Hill-Watson Memorial Chapel Inc. 2919 Hamilton Road at Rose Hill Columbus, Ga. Visitation will be Tuesday April 26, 1:00PM to 6:00 PM at the funeral home. Mr. Thomas Mitchell is preceded by his parents; Earnest Mitchell and Rosie Lee Allen; two brothers; Josh
Rivers and Jimmie Crawford; three sisters; Sallie Collins, Nance Key, Rosie L. Foster, Hurtsboro, Ala, He attended Russell County School and later joined the Army. He wad honorable discharged as Corporal during military service 1942-1946. Mr, Mitchell was a dedicated driver for Covan Trucking Company for ten years, later retired. He met his love, Betty Weatherspoon and married June 15, 1971 in Muscogee County, later joining Allen Temple AME Church December 9th , 1991 , where he grew in faith and spirit and was selected Trustee of the Church and later joined the Usher Board. Mr. Mitchell is survived by two daughters;Lauren Weatherspoon, Patrice Weatherspoon, granddaughter Victoria Weatherspoon, three great grandchildren, Tokovia Jefferson, Tianna Weatherspoon, Tia Weatherspoon; three great, great, grandchildren, Male' Cessi, Jazier, Jacob, three nieces; Myra Snipe, Bridgett Fisher, Essie M. Russell; two grant nieces, Jacqueline C. Davis and April L. Jordan, a host of other relatives and friends.
