Velma Jean Burt January 15, 1947 - January 21, 2010 PHENIX CITY, AL — Velma Jean Burt, 63, of Phenix City, AL died Thursday, January 21, 2010 at Jack Hughston Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 23, 2010 at Colonial Funeral Home Chapel, 613 14th St. Phenix City, AL with Rev. Elbert Ward officiating. Interment will follow at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 till 8 PM at the funeral home. Mrs. Burt was born January 15, 1947 in Columbus, GA daughter of the late Annie Ruth Wade Johnson and Delma Eugene Johnson. She worked as a cashier for Family Dollar Store. She was a member of Bush Road Emmanuel Baptist Church and the Women's Group at the church. She was preceded in death by her husband Herbert L. Burt. Survivors include her daughter Tina Waller (Kenny); sons Thomas Burt (Donna), Ronnie Burt (Sharon) and Michael (Nukie) Burt (Brandy) all of Phenix City, AL; sisters Joyce Wade of Donalsonville, GA, Brenda Stinson of Carrollton, GA and Mary Vuckovich of Rome, GA; grandchildren Candy, Kayla, Jessica, Magen, Robbie, Little Man, Mikey, Brent, Austin and Blake; seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
