Columbus, GA- Miss Vivian C. Jenkins of 339 Glenhaven Drive, Columbus passed Tuesday at the Columbus Specialty Hospital. She was 51 years of age.
The daughter of Mrs. Evelyn Long Jenkins of LaGrange, GA and the late Peter E. Jenkins, Vivian was a native of Columbus and was a 1976 graduate of Carver High School. She received a Bachelors Degree from Athens State University and was currently working with the Masters program at Troy State University. She was employed with Civil Services at Ft. Benning with the A G Division and was a Mary K. Cosmetic representative. She was a member of the North Highland Assembly of God where she worked with the Singles Ministry and as a Sunday School Teacher.
Survivors, other than her mother, include: a brother, Gary Jenkins; two sisters, Lillian Washington (Quincey) and Nellina Jenkins; four nieces, Nyomi and Amanda Washington, Akira and Sydney Jenkins; one nephew, Adrian E. Jenkins; a great aunt, Mrs. Pearline Lamar; loving friends, Wayne Johnson and Georgia Daniels; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
The Memorial Ceremony for Miss Jenkins will be Saturday, 1:00 pm at Gateway Church 3702 Buena Vista Road, Columbus. The Family will receive friends and the cortege will depart from 4225 Ridgefield Court at 12:30 the day of the service. The family request that donations be made to the Diabetes Association and the American Kidney Foundation in renembrance of Miss Vivian Jenkins. Arrangements entrusted to Progressive Funeral Home, Inc.

Prayers and sympathy to the Jenkins family. Vivian was a beautful flower on earth and we know that she is a beautful flower in heaven in God's flower garden. It was a joy to know Vivian and I thank God for sharing her with us. Her commitment to the Lord and His work was very encouraging. We must emulate the spiritual life that she lived.

My deepest sympathy to the Jenkins Family on your recent loss. I worked with Vivian for four years at the Adjutant General Student Proc Ctr/Officer Management Section. Words are not enough to describe the sadness in her passing. I will never forget her faithfulness in her job and her willingness to help others. May God bless you all.

We all know that Vivian is up in Heaven smiling down on us and waiting for us to join her. Although we miss her, I thank God for allowing us to have her as long as we did. God always knows what's best even when we don't. May God's love continue to bless this family through out this time.
