W. Harmon Obituary
W. D. Harmon, Jr. affectionately known as "Ricky/Debo" was born May 28, 1957, in Columbus, Georgia to the late W. D. Harmon, Sr. and Betty B. Harmon. Ricky accepted Christ at an early age. Ricky matriculated through the Muscogee County School district and graduated in 1975 from Carver High School where he Lettered in basketball and football. After graduation, he worked several years for Southern Railroad, then became a master welder for Kings Construction Company before retiring as a long-distance truck driver with Western Express Trucking Company. Ricky was an avid fisherman and found joy in teaching others the technique to become a skilled fisherman. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing along with those he mentored, known as his "fishing buddies".
Ricky was preceded in death by his father, W. D. Harmon, Sr.; and grandparents, Obie Lee Harmon, Sr. Julia Mae W. Harmon, Curtis Bryant, Sr. and Queen W. Bryant.
Ricky's memory will be cherished forever by his mother, Betty B. Harmon of Columbus, GA; one sister, Martha J. Harmon of Covington, GA.; one uncle, David Harmon; five aunts, Mary S. Sullivan, Illene Williams, Mary K. Bryant, Martha A. Battle, Amy Lee Whitley; a devoted cousin, John C. Williams who has served the family as a personal assistant/supporter along with a host of other cousins and friends.

My sincere condolences to his family and friends. WD and I graduated together from CHS "75". Even though our lifes took different paths, in that we both left Columbus, I thank God that we met when we did and was able to share some fond memories and experiences from our days from "ODH". Rest in peace W.D.
