William Lindsey Hunt Jr. August 2, 1920 - January 22, 2004 COLUMBUS, GA - William Lindsey Hunt Jr., 83, of Azalea Trace Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, at St. Luke United Methodist Church with Dr. Gilbert Ramsey and the Rev. Helen Berenthien officiating. A private interment will be in Parkhill Cemetery, according to McMullen Funeral Home, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus. The following will serve as active pallbearers: Carl Bragg, Sparkey Allen, Wendell Mason, Bob Kerce, Dewey Reaves and Meryl Griffiths. Honorary pallbearers will be Chuck Fairbanks, Ben Henry, Ken Toole, Dorsey Morris, Buddy (James) Metcalf, Frank Johnson, John Gause, Bill Daniel, Charles Hamilton, Chappell Gammage, Dr. Lionel Yoe and members of the William Henry Shaw Class of St. Luke United Methodist Church. Mr. Hunt was born Aug. 2, 1920 in Thomaston, (Marengo County) Ala., the son of the late Katy Ree Pickens Hunt and William Lindsey Hunt. He lived in Thomaston, graduating from Marengo County High School in 1938. He married Kathryn Bradford Glass of Linden, Ala. They lived in Mobile and Selma, Ala., until 1959 when he moved to Columbus. He was in automobile sales. In Selma he was an Elk, a Mason and a Shriner. He belonged to the Alcazar Shrine Temple in Montgomery, Ala. He was an active member of the Lions International. Mr. Hunt moved to Columbus and was Used Car manager for Miller Pontiac for 25 years. He earned the title of master Salesman for Southeastern Division of Pontiac, Inc., for 12 years. He remained in the auto sales business until 1988. Mr. Hunt was a past president of the Columbus Exchange Club. He was an active Christian member of St. Luke United Methodist Church, a member of the William Henry Shaw Sunday School Class, the Administrative Board of St. Luke and a member of its Greeting Committee. Mr. Hunt was also a member of the Valley Seniors Golf Club and a long standing member of the Columbus Country Club. A devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, he made friends easily and enjoyed sharing his garden and flowers. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Kathryn Glass Hunt; daughters, Geralyn H. Roller (Marty) of Hamilton, Ga., and Kay H. Kosobucki (Dan) of Waverly Hall, Ga.; a son, William L. Hunt, III (Barbara) of Upatoi, Ga.; six grandchildren, Dr. Daniel E. Kosobucki (Leigh) of Columbus, Dr. Jill Masterson (Scott) of Greenwood, S.C., Kimberly H. Enderle (Frank) of Ravensburg, Germany, Jonathan H. Haralson (Mindy) of Columbus, William L. Hunt, IV of Columbus and Robin C. Monteith (Tracy) of Seattle, Wash., and seven great grandchildren. At Mr. Hunt's request, in lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Luke United Methodist Church or your favorite charity.
