I just wanted to share a wonderful story that shows just what kind of man Mr. Siniard was. When I was in 5th grade, Mr. Siniard was superintendent of the Russell County school system. I had just recently entered public school and was excited to participate in my first 4H County baking competition which was being held on a Saturday at the Roy Martin Center. As you can imagine, I had baked and baked and baked that week. Late on Friday evening, we discovered that I had left my 4H book in my desk at school. I was devastated. Without my book, I would not be allowed to compete, and after all that work. I was in tears. Needless to say, my mother began calling everyone she could think of to find a way into that school. She finally got Mr. Siniard's home phone number and contacted him. At 8 or 9 on that Friday evening, Mr. Siniard left his home in Smiths Station and drove all the way to Seale, AL to let me in the school to retrieve my book so I could compete the next day. No one else would have gone out of their way to ensure a 10 year old girl could compete in her first competition. Most would have feigned being too busy or just said that I would have to learn my lesson for next time. I have never forgotten Mr. Siniard for his kindness and his gift to me. Needless to say, I did not win the baking competition that next day, but did go on to win State Competitions in other 4H areas over my next several years in the RC school system. God Bless your family and know that Mr. Siniard made a difference in may children's lives over his years in RC.

What a difference Mr. Siniard made in Ladonia and the entire Russell County School system! He was an extremely kind, positive and intelligent man. Always able to offer up just the right words of encouragement, support and correction when we needed it and he did it all with love and kindness. We will miss him. I thank God for having been blessed with such a great role model in my life. Mr. Siniard YOU made a difference in our world! My thoughts and prayers are with your family now; may God grant you all strength, grace, courage and comfort in your time of sorrow.
