Master Gunnery Sergeant David C. Rasponi, USMC (Ret)

Davenport, FL - David Charles Rasponi, 73, of Davenport, FL, passed away on August 15, 2025, surrounded by family.

David was born on August 3, 1952, in Fitchburg, MA, the son of Ann (nee Sullivan) and Elia Rasponi. He grew up in New Ipswich, NH. After graduating from Mascenic Regional High School, he went on to pursue a career in the United States Marine Corps.

A proud veteran of the US Marine Corps, David enlisted at the age of 18 and went to boot camp at Parris Island, SC. During his 27-year career he trained all over the world attaining the rank of Master Gunnery Sergeant at the time of his retirement in 1997. Services included Beirut, Persian Gulf War (Desert Storm), and Somalia.

David was a loving husband and devoted father and a pillar of strength and support for his family. He was known for his strong work ethic and deep love for his family, always there to offer guidance. He leaves a legacy of love, kindness, and integrity. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

David is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Beatrice Rasponi (FL); children, Angela Rasponi (NV), Michael Rasponi (wife Christine) (NC), and Dennis Rasponi (LA); grandchildren, Jordan Rasponi and Jacob Rasponi (NC); siblings, Michael Rasponi (wife Carol) (AZ), Mary Rasponi (CT), Debra Lord (CT) and Sean Rasponi (CT). He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Patricia Rasponi (CT).

A service with full military honors will be held at New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery on Monday, June 29, 2026, at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St Jude in David's honor.

May David's memory live on, and we carry forward his values and teachings. Semper Fidelis.
