John McCormack Obituary

HANCOCK - John McCormack, 72, of Hancock, NH died at his home on November 17, 2012.
He was born on June 19, 1940 in Richmond, VT, the son of Raymond McCormack and Jessica Smart McCormack.
John grew up and attended schools in Trenton, NJ. After joining the Navy in 1958, John met his future wife. Upon honorable discharge in 1962, he returned to NJ to raise his family. John worked at Johnson and Johnson as a scientist in the field of research. He moved to Hancock four years ago. John loved the outdoors and found great joy in fishing, particularly at a campground that he stayed at during the summer in Swanton, VT. He also spent a great deal of time caring for his many vegetable gardens. When not outdoors, John enjoyed working on crossword puzzles.
In addition to his wife of 50 years, Karen Allen McCormack, John is survived by his four children; Nancy McCormack, her husband Ira Hernowitz, their daughter Taylor and son Ben of Warwick, RI, Julie McCormack and her husband David Maguire of Lancaster, MA, Kathleen McCormack of New York, NY and John B. McCormack of Lynn, MA. He is also survived by his sister Jessica Fitzpatrick of Trenton, NJ and numerous nieces and nephews.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
