Sarah Anderson Obituary

Sarah E. Anderson, 85, formerly of Jaffrey, NH, died peacefully at Pheasant Wood Center on January 28, 2024.

Sarah was born on August 4, 1938 in Salem, MA, the daughter of the late Edgar D. Andrews and Margaret Nichols. She grew up in the town of Rowley, MA and was always happy to share stories about growing up in a place she loved.

Sarah graduated from Ipswich High School in 1956 and attended Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School in Boston. She was most proud of her long career as a telephone operator for AT&T, who she always referred to as "Ma Bell." Sarah retired in 1998 to spend time enjoying her family and her home on Mountain Road in Jaffrey, surrounded by nature and a view of Mount Monadnock.

Sarah was an accomplished seamstress, knitter and crafter. She spent many hours at her sewing machine making clothes for her family. She enjoyed knitting sweaters, and one Christmas knit stockings for the entire family.

Sarah is pre-deceased by her husband, Donald T. Anderson. She leaves behind Susan Szydlo of Dublin, Sally E. Howe of Jaffrey, Greg Anderson of Concord, Synia Anderson of Peterborough, Jacki Hanchet of Nelson, Kristin Anderson of Marlow, Karl Anderson of Morganton, North Carolina. Sarah also lives behind many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held in the spring at Rowley Cemetery in Rowley, Mass.
