Aaron Scott Marin

Aaron Scott Marin was born in 1971 hearing a far-off chord, so he stretched for it, coming closer than many of us ever could. He was an extraordinary musician, admired by established artists like Jane's Addiction, and was a founding member of the bands "Beyond Race" and Berkeley's "Green Thumb." He partnered with other bands and left imprints of his talent in so many places, from video to digital to what you hear in your head.

He ran from one side of the street to another, sometimes in the dark, sometimes in the light, and had his share of tragedies. He survived the Ghostship fire by jumping out a third floor window and carried the memories of friends and their lost art with him ever since. He found restoration in music and gave as much life back as he could.

He died in a motorcycle accident, as sudden and unexpected as his whole life had been. Each day a fullness, each hour a joy.
