Acacia Rachael Tisher
"Innocent Lamb"
August 12, 1993 ~ September 22, 2011
Acacia Rachael Tisher came into this world bringing hope and expectation on August 12, 1993. This day our lives were blessed to have an angel in their presence who changed us forever. She came bringing love and grace to those around her; joyful beyond belief. From early on she inspired all who met her with her determination and strength in her times of struggle. Embodied by the gift of compassion and empathy she intuitively could perceive in others the need for a hug or a gentle word of encouragement. Early in life Acacia blessed so many friends, family and complete strangers this way. As an angel, she often knew the exact words you needed to hear in a moment of hurt and pain.
Acacia loved people. Her love for culture and diversity inspired her to experience and learn as much as she could about Korea, Japan and other cultures. She loved attending pow- wows, eating sushi and going to Camp Easter Seals. At times she was frustrated that her own disability kept her from meeting her dreams that often were larger than life. Yet her dreams and aspirations had the power to reaffirm your own belief that anything in this world is truly possible when faced with faith, love and exuberance for life. It is because of Acacia Hope's Home, the first of its kind in Canada, is a reality today, helping many children with complex medical needs and their families.
Acacia was the ultimate big sister. She will be missed and forever loved by her sister and friend Victoria, her little brother Isaac and brother Tysen. They will carry her memory and laughter in their hearts forever. "Family is the best", Acacia would say. Her Grandma Tisher encouraged her to pray and love God. Grandma Jeanie, taught her how to have faith in all situations and laugh hard. She loved her visits to ND telling Grandma and Grandpa Strummer "This is where I belong". Her many Aunts and Uncles always showed her respect, acceptance and unconditional love. Acacia loved her cousin Cody and wanted to thank him for always making her feel so very special.
Acacia was so excited about Graduation - June 2012. She loved attending Regina Christian School and talked about the new stage of life she was to embark upon. We planned for a graduation trip to Japan another dream of hers. Acacia was an inspiration to her teachers and fellow students. Her beautiful smile and warm presence will be missed by one incredible school.
At the young age of 18 years, Acacia ran into the arms of Jesus. What a privilege to be called Acacia's Mom and Dad. Our hearts and lives will never be the same. We will hold tight to the memories of your love, beauty, generosity and kindness as our daily comfort. May your infectious laughter and vibrant smile make Heaven an even more glorious place. Please hug your Grandpa Armin Tisher, sister Angelica and brother Thomas in Heaven.
We are so proud of you Acacia. Even in your death you gave the ultimate gift as an organ donor. Acacia, may you live on in those individuals now blessed by you. May your heart beat strong and produce new life, may your lungs breathe out a bit of your presence, may your liver, pancreas and kidneys remind those so blessed by you how fragile and precious life is and to never take one moment for granted! May you continue to inspire us to experience the incredible love and mercy of our God, to walk in faith and hope.
Acacia Rachael Tisher will be missed by her parents Thom and Jacqueline Tisher, siblings Victoria and Isaac Tisher, grandparents Alma Tisher, Jeanie and Lauren Stromswold and Ron Kelly plus many Aunts, Uncles and cousins.
Please come to Celebrate Acacia's life on Wednesday September 28, 2011 at Harvest City Church, 2202 8th Avenue North, Regina, SK.
Viewing will be 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. with her Memorial Celebration beginning at 3:00 p.m.
Bring your memories, love and laughter. We will share her life together.
Flowers are welcome...please send directly to church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to:

Hi - I work with IITB/HRSDC and have talked to you, Thom, a few times. You are such a nice person and so helpful. I am sure Acacia took that trait and many other wonderful gifts from yourself and everyone in your family; evident from the beautiful message you all have written. You have been blessed. My heart goes out to all of you and my prayers are with you.

What a beautiful tribute to a wonderful girl. Acacia was so lucky to have been born into a family so gracious, empathetic and kind. You, as her family were so lucky to have shared 18 years with her. I remember you carrying Acacia into the living room at Tim and Darlene's for a visit, probably 15 years ago.At such a young age she lit up the room with her smiles.
You have ,because of her presence in your life, made such an impact on other families in Regina and because of that she will never be forgotten.
My heart goes out to you at this time. Take one baby step at a time.
