Al Eggleston, age 83, of Crittenden Circle, Russellville, passed away Monday, May 11, 2015, at Logan Memorial Hospital. He was born in Keysville, Va., on May 27, 1931, to the late David Eggleston and Myrtle Dixon Eggleston. He was a Chemical Engineer for E.R. Carpenter Co. for 42 years and was a US Army Veteran. He was of the Baptist faith and was a devoted father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Ann Locke Eggleston.
He is survived by his son, Rick Eggleston and wife, Sue of Russellville; daughter, Sandra Brown and husband, Ben of Russellville; sister, Marion Wilmouth of Keysville, Va.; nine grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and a dear friend, Marguerite Kirkpatrick.
Funeral Services for Al Eggleston will be conducted at 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2015, at Summers, Kirby and Sanders Funeral Home with Bro. Wilbur Powell officiating with burial to follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home will be Friday, May 15, 2015, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 2 p.m. until the funeral hour of 4:00 pm.
Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Chad Cato, Chad Eggleston, Jason Curry, Daryl Lanier, Matt Cannizzo, Kyle Waldrup, Matthew Lanier and Avrey Collier.
