My condolences to Alan's family. Alan was a kind and generous person who provided outstanding customer service while in the Navy at NRD Seattle and as a civil service employee at PSD Everett. I had the privilege of interacting with Alan at both offices while I was at NAVPTO Bangor. He will be missed by all who knew him and all the customers he served.

I have known Alan only from work - and distantly from Bangor. Alan was always a fine person to work with and to visit. Always cheerful.. and helpful..My sincere condolences to the family and his close friends. He will be greatly missed among his colleagues and those of us who knew him from afar.

Eric and Jennifer-
I had been thinking of your parents a lot the past couple of weeks...After some searching, I was surprised and saddened when I found mention of your Dad's passing.
I do feel guilty of having lost track of all of you, especially after your Mom's passing but to learn that your Dad is now gone too has left an even bigger emptiness in my heart.
He was such a hard-working, selfless person with a gentle spirit. I have never seen a happier man than your Dad after each of you were born. I want both of you to know that they loved you so very, very much and, as you matured into adulthood, how proud they were of you.
The one thing I remember most about your Dad was his laugh and great smile.
The one thing I admired most about him was his unconditional love for your Mom...
Words cannot begin to express my sorrow for what you are going through. I sincerely hope that you find comfort in all the great memories you will share and the fact that you are and always will be loved by a pair of wonderful people I was lucky enough to know and consider as family.
Take care of each other...
Love, Aunt Karen

My condolences to the Estrella Family. After his long sick leave, we were so glad to see Alan back at PSD. I noticed that inspite of being weak he took time to talk to each of us, going from one desk to another. I saw his smile ... sense of peace within him.
I forgot to personally give him my Christmas card but before I left for my 2 weeks vacation I was able to give it through a friend. When I came back to work, Alan was at my desk asking me how my vacation was.
His absence taught me to treasure friends & family, inspires me to live positively & cheerfully, express thanks & encouragement to others.
My prayers are with you and Alan.

My condolences to the Estrella Family.
My wife Melinda and I were honored to have sat at the table with Alan at his last office Christmas Party.
We broke bread together, laughed, and made fun of one another like he and I use to do on several occasions
near his desk or mine. On a monthly basis Alan would remind me that I had to stay on my P's and Q's
because one day I had to follow in the footsteps of the one and only King
of Customer Service! Alan didn't raise his voice, he didn't overact, he just continued to be
professional, stayed focused on the mission at hand and provided the
customer the finest customer service they ever experienced! I hope and pray
to grow up to be just like him in that respect one day.
When I use to work there besides checking up on me daily we often ate lunch around the same time.
Several days he talked with me about his lovely wife and all she meant to
him and how much he missed her.
On one particular occasion he said: I know the day will come where I will
see her once again in heaven because I miss the love of my life and I
certainly miss her home cooking!!!
I know he's walking on the clouds above us hand in hand with his beloved!!!
I look forward to that day in God's Heavenly Kingdom where he and I can
laugh out loud once again!
I will truly miss my ole' friend!!!

Eric and Jennifer, you and your family are in our prayers. I served with your father, worked with your father years later as a civilian and often laughed with your father. He enjoyed his weekends in Canada, talked a lot of NHL, and bragged a lot about Eric's mechanical abilities. Your dad will be missed and I'm sure there is a special place in Heaven for him!
