My family was just made aware of the passing of Dr. Irving. Needless to say, my wife Cindy and I are deeply saddened of the loss of Dr. Irving. He has been our doctor for many years. The many lives he personally aided and more importantly his family and friends, it was truly sad to receive this news.
Please pass our condolence to Dr. Irving's family, Kerry, Brett and Kyle. To the great folks at Langley Rehab, our heart, thoughts and prayers are with you as well. I know he was a tremendous mentor to all of you as he was to us.

What a wonderful celebration of life. I knew Alan only at the office, always with a smile helping our family with our needs. It was wonderful to hear so many friends and family pay tribute to what a wonderful man (or 12 year old boy) Alan was. Sound like Alan lived more in his too few years then most do in a lifetime.
Thinking of you.

To Kerry, Brad, The Staff of Langley Sports & Rehab and Family,
We are shocked and saddened by the untimely passing of Dr. Irving.
We searched for many months to find a competent and knowledgeable Doctor to treat our 16 year old son's scoliosis. When we found Dr. Irving, we instinctively knew this was the very best person and felt overjoyed and fortunate we were able to meet him. He was the most caring, dedicated, compassionate, brilliant Doctor who never hesitated to go the extra mile in delivering patient care. We have lost a true Angel of the earth, and our prayers and heartfelt sympathy are with you at this very difficult time.
Dr. Irving's final words regarding my son were, "I know you are worried, but everything will be all right."
Please accept our sincerest condolences

I just found out about Alan's passing and I am in complete shock. I have known him as a patient for over a decade and he has helped me in that time maintain a good quality of life due to a serious auto accident I was involved in back in 1999. The last time I saw him was just before Christmas and we joked about not over indulging in the season and keeping our waists trim. He was a good guy, joked around but always professional. He always talked about his 2 sons and the "daddy" adventures they had, and I would relate by telling him about my "daddy" adventures with my own son. I am totally blown away and have to stop writing right now to compose myself...RIP Alan, and thank you from my heart for the care you provided me and my son Arron.

Dear Irving family, The service today was very heartfelt. We have many good memories from meeting Alan so many years ago in Dr. Peter Brouwer's Fort Langley office. Now the years have melted away. Every time we visited your office Alan was always busy moving from room to room but had time to stop and ask about family. He was always interested in what we were doing. Yes he cared about our neck pain, headaches, and alignment thus he always made us feel better by the time our visit was over including an encouraging kind word. We don't know what the future holds. None of us know how many precious days we have on this beautiful earth. One thing Alan has showed us. To live life to the fullest and never look back, always moving forward anticipating new and wonderful experiences. Definitely a great man that cannot be replaced. Our thoughts and prayers are for all of you at this unfortunate time of loss. We will miss Alan very much. From Jerry, Lyn, Jerlyn, Lynden & Colyn Chan Family

It's just unbelievable that such a man filled with so much life and knowledge had to leave us way too soon. I wish you much strength to get through this sad time in your lives.
Dr. Irving would always manage to lift my spirits with his positivity and encouragement. I was always amazed how he could chat his way through my treatments. As I got to know him better over the years I appreciated our talks about owning a business and the importance of taking time off from work. So you see, not only did he help me physically he was also helping me with my well being.
Kerry, may you and your family help each other through this difficult time. You are in my thoughts.

I searched for years for a Scoliosis specialist of the calibre of Dr. Irving. Imagine how thrilled I was at our connection as we laughed & laughed as he strapped me into my snapping, crackling velcro straps of the Spine-cor brace. That connection is rare in the medical profession but so easy for Dr. Irving, as that was the type of person he was, delighting in the progress of his patient. My husband also went to Dr. Irving for sciatica & knee problems & also found this same connection.
We are still shocked & very saddened beyond belief at his passing. The medical profession has lost one of its best someone who continuously went beyond the norm to seek out & learn more knowledge & take delight in it.
Our heartfelt condolences & prayers go out to his family & loved ones at this very sad & difficult time.

Dear Kerry, Brett, Kyle, Alex and the rest of the family, we are still in shock over your loss and this tragedy.
Al was a great person and loved his family very much. He was always planning the next adventure. He was a pleasure to be around, constantly laughing, and always so positive.
He always made time to ask how we were doing and sincerely wanted to know how things were going for us.
Have just had dinner with him on Boxing Day, it was especially hard and unbelievable hard to hear the news as he was "Big Al" through and through and very much looking forward to the family ski trip to Sun Peaks.
