Albert Edington Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 10, 2025.
Albert "Al" Edington passed away on August 6, 2025, in Westland, Michigan, at the age of 77.

Born on December 23, 1947, Al was the son of Bernard (Francis) Edington and Blula Edington. He grew up alongside his three sisters: Gloria, Lavelle, and Bernadette.

Al proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Following his military service, he built a career at Riso before retiring. Never one to stay idle for long, he later spent many years as a long-haul truck driver, embracing the open road with dedication and resilience.

He was married to Joyce for 36 years, and together they shared a son, Douglas. Later in life, Al found companionship and love again with his wife Linda Edington. He is remembered with love by Linda; his son Doug and daughter-in-law Brenda; stepchildren Adam (Kim), Brian (Amanda), and Becky (Bryan); and his grandchildren Alicia and Nicole. He was also a proud papa to step-grandchildren Logan, Aiden, Izzy, Eve, and Colt.

Al had a deep love for his family and cherished time spent with his grandchildren. His loyal dog Miracle was never far from his side. Known for his creativity and skillful hands, Al enjoyed building things and working on projects that allowed him to express his ingenuity.

His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew himfamily, friends, and those whose lives he touched through his kindness and craftsmanship.

May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.

There will be a memorial service and celebration of life for Al soon.
