Albert Harrington Obituary

"A.C.", our dear brother, good son, intriguing uncle, and beloved friend "slipped the surly bonds of earth" to take his best flight beyond his youthful Civil Air Patrol days, his US Air Force service, flight training, Atlanta Police Helicopter Force, and his long career in piloting business jets for companies around the world. A 32nd Degree KCCH member of Scottish Rite and Past Master of East Gate Lodge AF & AM 0692, A.C. will be missed by his brothers and their families. His devoted friends from McCrainie's will remember him by the fascinating stories he shared of his adventures. A.C. had a gift for bringing people together who formed lifelong friendships from his connection.

A.C. was preceded in death by his father A.C. Harrington, Sr. And his mother, Erne' Hendry Morris.

He is survived by his sisters, Olivia Hendry Keirstead, Leslie H. Carter (James), and their families. A.C. and his family are thankful for the charming friends and caring, helpful staff at Merrywood on Park who were there at a poignant time for him.

Special thanks go to the "heroes" who worked together to strengthen and comfort A.C. on his journey at Atrium Charlotte, Pruitt Health Town Center, Atrium Cabarrus, and Levine-Dickson Hospice House.

"Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth of sun-split clouds -and done a hundred things you have not dreamed of - wheeled and soared and swung high in the sunlit silence. Hov'ring there, I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung my eager craft through footless halls of air. . ." --from High Flight by John Gillespie Magee, Jr.

"You don't go where I have flown and see what I have seen and not believe in God" --A.C. Harrington, Jr.

My grand son Ian and I used to meet A C often at the lake in our neighborhood. Ian often asked about A C when he was in the hospital and rehab. We do not have the words to express our sorrow!! We just went to the lake and prayed peace for AC

So sorry for your loss. We were privileged to know AC for a short time at Merrywood On Park. AC made a great first impression with our residents and staff and always greeting everyone with a smile and friendly hello- we will miss him.

AC and I have been friends for over 30 years. He was my Masonic coach, a gentleman who was talented in so many ways. We spent time dining at each other´s homes, he was a true gourmet chef. I will miss him.
