Albert Khoury

Albert Khoury, age 93, of Georgetown, Texas, formerly of Katy, Texas and Boca Raton, Florida passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2014. He was born on September 11, 1920 in Brooklyn, New York to parents Mary Maddy and Naji Khoury. He married Lorraine Forzly on December 24, 1942 in Manhattan, New York. His sisters, Nester and Viola and his brothers, Raymond and Arthur preceded him in death.

Albert served his country in World War II between June 1942 and December 1945, as a Medic with the 843rd Medical Detachment in the Pacific Theater. Al belonged to VFW Post 8587.

Albert was a member of St. John the Forerunner Orthodox Christian Church in Cedar Park, Texas.

He is survived by his sons, Bruce Khoury and wife Patricia of Georgetown, Texas and Glenn Khoury and wife JoAnne of Norwood, New Jersey; daughter, Bonne Anne Garguilo and husband Nicholas of Staten Island, New York; granddaughters, Cynthia Koehn and Jocelyn Cox of Houston, Texas, and Jessica Khoury of New York City, New York; grandsons, Jarrod Khoury of Norwood, New Jersey and Thomas Garguilo of Staten Island, New York; and numerous great-grandchildren.

A visitation with family and friends will be held on Sunday, the 26th of January, 2014 from one o'clock to two o'clock in the afternoon at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown, Texas with funeral services to follow at two o'clock with Father Aidan Wilcoxson, pastor of the St. John the Forerunner Christian Orthodox Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville, Texas.
