Albert Douglas Posey

Albert Douglas Posey ("Doug"), of San Diego, California, died peacefully surrounded by family on April 30, 2022.

Doug was born on March 18, 1950 to Albert Jennings Posey and Mary Helen Roberson in Portsmouth, Virginia.

Doug was a star high school football player and was recruited to the University of Tampa. It was there that he met his first wife, Lyne Carr, with whom he had his daughter, Summer.

Doug served as a sergeant in the US Air Force, supporting the war effort in Vietnam in Thailand. Following his service, Doug was a plumber by trade and a sailor by dream, living primarily in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, The Florida Keys, and San Diego.

Doug married Carol Parker on August 26, 2017. Doug and Carol had many adventures together, enjoying extended trips to Alaska, Baja Mexico and across the US.

Doug was known to all as a great storyteller, a generous and supportive helping hand to those in need, and a warm and cheerful part of countless good times with friends and family. Doug loved sailing, traveling, classic movies, college football, and time spent with loved ones.

Doug is survived by his beloved wife, Carol; his daughter, Summer; his nephew, Robbie; and his grandson, Aidan.

Funeral Services will be held at 1pm on June 8, 2022 at Miramar National Cemetery in San Diego, California. A celebration of life reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a charity of your choice in Doug's name.
