Alex was a highly respected journalist at my hometown paper, The Sheboygan Press, for several years before his teaching career began at the University of Wisconsin-Sheboygan. I had the privilege of being one of his first students at UW-Sheboygan in 1968 where inspired me to choose journalism as my career path.
I am proud to say I followed in his footsteps at The Sheboygan Press and worked there for for 38 years and learned firsthand the respect others had for him as a journalist and a person.

Joan, Condolences on the passing of your spouse, Alex. Tom was his colleague at UW-Sheboygan, where he taught mathematics for 43 years. I remember your children, and your draw-on-the-green- wall party prior to your redecorating your home.
May your fond memories of Al bring you peace, and may you find comfort in family and friends.

My heart is crushed for my Uncle and Godfather. I will treasure memories of his compassionate soul and keen intellect always. My family's thoughts and prayers are with my loving Aunt Joan, cousins Bob, Jean, Barb, Steve, Tom and their families. God bless and take comfort in knowing Al will continue to shine on us in spirit with faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.
We love you Al!

Dear Joan -
We just learned of Alex's death, and share the grief that you & the family are going through. Al was a fine man who lived a life overflowing with friends and accomplishments. I know how much Ken depended on and appreciated Al from the very beginning of their association at UW-S. We have many happy memories and will miss him dearly.

Our sympathy to the Nagy family.
I remember Al from the UW Sheboygan. I taught chemistry there for almost 40 years while Al was a faculty member and Campus Dean.
