SMITH ALEXANDER (ALEX)(DEEDE) SMITH, III, crossed over on Saturday, March 15 , 2014, at Lakeview Regional Medical Center, Covington, La.. Alex was born on August 10, 1954 in New Orleans, La and was a resident of Lacombe, La, for the past 17 years Alex is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 18 years, Julie W. Smith. Through this union , a blended family of seven(7) children were united: Mario(Areial) Simmons of Austell, Ga., Alexandra Smith of New Orleans, La., Alexis (Dyronne) Smith of New Orleans, La., Allegra(Chad) Smith of Pensacola, FL, Lindsey Smith of Gainsville,FL, Rochelle (Andre') Glover of Macon, GA and Kendra(Tyrone) Marshall of Slidell, La. He also leaves to cherish his memories, his sister, Mona Lisa Smith, brothers Shelton (Ann) Smith of Pasadena, Tx, and Kelvin (Shondra) Smith of Winder, GA. He was preceded in death by his father, Alexander Smith, Jr., his mother, Rosie Darby Smith Thomas, and sister, Sylvia Johnson. Alex is also survived by 21 grandchildren and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Services at HONAKER FUNERAL HOME, 1751 GAUSE Blvd. WEST (IN FOREST LAWN CEMETERY), Slidell, LA on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. Just came by to say that I am missing you more then ever. I thought that you would be coming home, wish I would have said a thousand times how much I love you on the last day that you were able to hear me. Alex was my barber for more than 20 years. I don't know if I enjoyed the haircut or the stuff he would talk while cutting my hair. Either way, Alex was a friend to me and my family, I will never forget he gave both my sons their first haircuts.
