SILVESTRI _ Alferino 1928 - 2006 Mr. Alferino Silvestri passed away on May 17, 2006 in Kelowna, British Columbia at the age of 77 years. Alf was born on October 12, 1928 in Bologna, Italy and immigrated to Canada in 1954. He made his livelihood working with thoroughbred race horses and eventually retired in Kelowna, BC. Alf will always be loved by his beloved wife Fleana; son Frank (Julie); daughter Liviana (Terry); grandchildren, Elisa, Travis, Andrea (Ken), Clayton (Angela), Brandon and Jordan; great-grandchildren, Curtis, Emily, Nicholas, Randy, and Anthony; sister Alferina; sister-in-law Alfonsina; brother-in-law Elvio (Vicky); nephew Enrico (Liz); as well as many other relatives and friends. Alf was predeceased by his mother, father, and brother Alfeo. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Grace Italian and English Catholic Church (1714 - 14 Avenue N.E.) on Wednesday, May 24, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. with The Rev. Emanuel Buttigieg, Presider. Graveside service to follow at the Queen's Park Mausoleum. Condolences may be forwarded through www.commemorativeservices.ca . In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to any palliative care facility, in memory of the compassionate care Alf received before he passed away.
