Our loving mother, Alice Ernestine Colburn, 83, Russellville, reached for the angels and to her husband, Jack E. Colburn, on Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at Keller Landing Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Mother was an active member of the Jaycets, bowling team, and the church of Christ. She worked for Bargain Town for 15 years as manager. She had many friends who loved her.

The visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at Spry Memorial Chapel, Russellville. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 15, 2014, at Spry Memorial Chapel. Burial will be at Franklin Memory Gardens.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Colburn; mother, Jessie Ophelia Franks; father, Ernest Howell Davis; and brother, Bobby Davis.

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters, Diane Thomas (husband, Fred) and Shelby Willis (husband, Richard); grandsons, Jonathan McKinney and Kyle Frederick (wife, Angie); great-grandsons, Conner Frederick and Sam McKinney; sister, Rosa Mae Kelly (husband, Phillip); brothers, Roy W. Davis (wife, Voncille) and Johnny Davis (wife, Betty Ann); and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Cottage of the Shoals, Keller Landing, and Hospice of North Alabama who became our mother's friends.
