Alice E. Heidler

Alice E. (Dewald) Heidler, 82, wife of the late Charles A. Heidler, North Wales Rd., E. Norriton Twp., died Sunday, at Mercy Suburban Hospital, E. Norriton Twp. Mrs. Heidler was born on November 15, 1928, in Norristown, and was a daughter of the late George Dewald and the late Leona (Douglass) Coates. She was raised by her mother and step-father, the late John Coates. Mrs. Heidler retired in 1993 from the Norristown Area School District, where she managed cafeterias at the Paul Fly and Penn Square elementary schools for 30 years. During her retirement she continued as a cafeteria worker for the district and for Sesame/Rockwood Camps, Blue Bell. Mrs. Heidler is survived by her sons, George Heidler, Norristown, John Heidler, Jennersville, Jeffrey, husband of Kelly (Coyle) Heidler, Eagleville, and Brian, husband of Karen (Little) Heidler, Green Lane; her grandchildren, Sarah Heidler, Michelle Heidler, Michael Heidler, Brittany Heidler, Addam Heidler, and Zacharie Heidler; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Mae Dewald and George Dewald. A graveside service will be held at 11:30 AM, Thursday, at Valley Forge Memorial Gardens, 352 S. Gulph Road, Upper Merion Twp. Friends may call from 9:30 to 10:45 AM, Thursday, at the Holcombe Funeral Home, Inc., 21 Main St., Trappe.
