Alice was born to Charles and Jennie Wheaton in their home in Richmond, California. She attended Grant Elementary, Longfellow Jr. High and Richmond High School. After graduation, Alice modeled for the House of Charm in San Francisco and worked as a stenographer for Standard Oil in Richmond. She married George Quadros in 1947 and they had three children, David, Jenny (Hendrickson), and Dale. Alice worked for Superior Court Judge Robert Dugan until the family moved to Martinez in 1959. Alice was employed as an executive secretary for the Contra Costa/Napa/Solano Labor Council before she retired in 1992. George passed the next year and was unable to enjoy the large addition to the family. Alice had three sisters; Norma, Edna and Genevieve.
Alice has five grandchildren; Bryan, Lisa, Tobin (Quadros), Amanda (Lumbre), and Reggie (George). In addition, there are 15 great-grandchildren; Angela (Velho), Anthony, Avayla, Isaiah, Ayden (Lumbre), Maya, Casey, Ashley (Quadros), Essence, Alexia, Cerina, Reggie Jr., Tiana, Jru and Solei (George)
Alice enjoyed archery, tennis, golf, gardening, painting, reading, sewing, and especially shopping. She was talented as a leader and organizer for the Martinez Arts Association, Walnut Creek Civic Arts League, Diablo Ballet and Festival Opera Guild. She belonged to the Tilden Archery Club, Martinez, Pleasant Hill, Concord and Walnut Creek Seniors. Alice was often seen at the Forest Hills Pool near her home with her children, friends and family. Alice was most known for her sense of humor and generosity.
The family would like to thank the staff at Aegis of Pleasant Hill for their care and support for both Alice and her family. Thank you also to Sr. Care Plus (Nancy, Emma & Elinor) as well as the team at the Hospice of the East Bay for their special care for Alice in her final months.
A reception will follow the service (approximately 2:30 p.m.) at the Martinez Event Center, 524 Main Street (next door to La Tapatia Restaurant) Guests attending the service are encouraged to wear hats and dress colorfully in honor of Alice's style and personality.
Services will be on Sunday, July 8th at 1:00 p.m. at the Oakmont Memorial Park.

Dear Jenny, David & Dale,

I was so sorry to hear of the passing of your mom. I had no idea until I saw David at my Uncle Manny's 90th B-day party.

Your mom & I exchanged Christmas cards and notes for all but 2 of the 50 years Dick & I have been married. We talked on the phone, and shared some laughs, when I lived in San Jose. I always loved seeing your mom and talking with her, when I had the chance to see her in person. My mom used to clip articles that featured your mom from the Richmond Independent and she'd share them with me through the years.

Your mom had a great since of humor. She was also one of the kindest humans on this earth.

I now no why I hadn't heard anything from her in the last couple of years. I was so sorry to hear of your loss, but I know everything good about her will live on forever in your hearts. I know she'll live forever in mine.
