ALISA J. GABRIEL

ALISA J. GABRIEL, 67, went home to the Lord on Sunday, Nov. 28, 2021. Alisa was a loving wife, mother, daughter, and sister. All that knew her will remember the only thing greater than the volume of her laugh was the size of her heart. Her greatest joy was helping others. Alisa worked with children at Brookside Church in Fort Wayne prior to being a teacher's assistant at St. Charles Borromeo School for many years. She loved to be outdoors working in the yard, planting flowers, or just going for a walk with her dogs. Nothing gave her more happiness than time spent with her husband John and son Anthony. They could have as much fun on vacation as they did watching an episode of The Andy Griffith Show. "Lisa always wore a smile on her face and concerned herself with us more than herself. We were truly blessed to have the best wife and mom put on this earth." Alisa is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, John Gabriel of Fort Wayne; son, Anthony Gabriel of Denver, Colo..; daughter, Alicia Kelley of Kansas City, Mo.; mother, Kate Gwaltney of Fort Wayne; and sisters, Joni (Gary) King of Leo and Hollie (Matt) Fornefeld of Bloomington, Ind. She was preceded in death by her father, Hollis Bales. Mass of Christian Burial service is 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 10, 2021, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, with calling one hour prior.
