Allan Rinne Obituary
Born on February 22, 1936, in Makinen, Minnesota. Al proudly served his country as a Drill Sergeant in the U.S. Army's 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg. He also earned multiple degrees from the University of Washington and North Carolina State University.
His favorite hobby was practicing woodworking and was known by many for his wooden pens. He was proud of the pens made of Oak, Walnut or Tobacco Sticks, and of course he loved to teach the history of the wood used.
Al is survived by his beloved daughter Laura Siegmund (husband Travis Lam); granddaughter Emma Siegmund (fiancé Kieran Murphy), grandson Mason Siegmund; step-grandson Will Lam; great-granddaughter Charlotte Murphy; and sister Donna R. Hightowner. He was preceded in death by his first wife Dot Hall Rinne in 1996 and his second wife Hazel B. McLamb in 2023.
A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Westminister Presbyterian Cemetery 8050 Colliers Chapel Road (SR 1609) in Linden, NC. Pease park along the dirt road beside the cemetery. Seating and a tent will be provided. A luncheon and visitation with the family will be held at the Linden Community Building 9447 Market St, Linden, NC immediately following the graveside service.
