Mark and family -
I am so very sorry for your loss. Allyson was my friend in high school and we became fast and good friends. It was easy to see her beautiful, sweet, caring soul. We lost touch after graduation but it was difficult prior to the internet to find someone, but I tried. She was always in my heart - as you know, she was extraordinary and once connected you never forget her. It is comforting to see she lived a full life and continued to touch so many. You'd expect her to triumph over so many things, like becoming the first female fire fighter. I trust her journey into eternal joy was as kind as was she. God bless your family and thank you for posting images of her life. She remained a beauty - inside and out.

Allyson always took time out to talk with me when I would bring the kids to station 4 at Boca Fire. Her kindness and encouragement helped me get through some of the tough 24 hours as a stay at home mom. I respected her ability to do the job and stay tenderhearted when it came to her personal life. It was an honor to know her and have our babies together. A smile comes whenever I think of her. Rest now sweet one.

Allyson & I became friends years ago as we raised our sons. Outgoing, adventurous & outspoken, Allyson cheered on Jerry Springer while I watched Oprah. She discussed high school memories of soccer & competitive sports, while I shared my nerdy distaste of gym class. She described her varied job history & work with the fire department, while I was an at home mom. It was love for our kids, a desire to be involved parents & similar senses of humor that made us close. We shared adventures together as Boy Scout & school volunteers, Palm Beach Country Estate "neighbors", travel buddies taking our kids on trips to Orlando, GA, & VA, and knew we could count on each other for anything.

Sadly, as each of us moved out of the old neighborhood & our kids grew up, we lost touch. Allyson tracked me down this past year & we discussed going camping together, meeting her husband Mark, & catching up. My greatest regret is thinking we'd have more time. I'm still in shock that she has passed on. My sincerest sympathy, prayers & thoughts are with Allyson's family, & particularly Mark, Justin, & Huston.

Extended Tanner Family,

We are sorry for your tremendous loss, and pray The Lord comforts and cares for you all as only He is able. Also we pray, everything that made Allyson special to each of you, will forever be imprinted on your hearts and minds.

She was always very kind to me at Boca Raton Fire Rescue, as we served together; she made our job fun in a lot of ways, and she will be dearly missed by us ol' timers at BRFRS.

It feels just like yesterday when I first met Allyson at Boca Raton Fire Rescue. With her smiling face and the lovely way she carried herself, I knew she would be a great employee. And boy was she smart. She knew her job as a fire fighter paramedic and took her job seriously. I can still see her drive up in her red Camaro and coming in to get her paycheck.

We were pregnant (both times) together. Allyson was on light duty both times. Allyson was the master of ALL tasks that she was assigned to. Allyson would assist me and she processed the payroll better than I did. She was fantastic to work with at fire administration.

I'm so glad that I got to call Allyson my friend. She was one of a kind. I am so sorry for your loss. Allyson was such a giving and loving person.
