It has been almost 3 years and I still cannot believe that Al isnt here. Such an earthly loss.
We will remember him for his glowing smile, stiff handshake and big hugs. I wished I had known him longer but his legacy will live on thru various people and moments. Love you Al.

"Uncle" Alvin was larger than life, and will surely be missed. We would visit my grandpa and grandma (Steve and Annie) every year in Arelee, until I was about 24 when grandma moved. My brothers and I absolutely loved visiting Alvin and Linda's farm, it was always so much fun. Such warm, loving people! I am so sorry for your loss, Linda, Mark, Todd and everyone who loved him.

To all the Krivoshein Family. I posted the attached picture of Al, circa 1964 on Uncle Paul's farm in the hills west of Arelee. Al was such a "gentle giant" of a man. We loved his wonderful sense of humor and his infectious laugh. As the oldest "Koleada-clan" cousin, he truly was the Koleada "wikapedia". There was so much history wrapped up in his heart and soul. We just LOVED talking with him and having him share the stories of the "good old days." He will be GREATLY missed. Thankfully, in this journey as one of HIS children, we need not say good bye.... only, "Al, we'll see you in the morning!" Our tears and sad hearts are mingled with yours! HUGS to all.

Linda and family --- our re-collections of Alvin are so wonderful. He loved his farm and shared it with Karen and I, including Derwin, Heather and Brenda Koleada in the earlier years. He truly loved his cousins. He was so kind. One of the true mentors in my life. At our last meeting at Canada Place Vancouver, he was full of joy and brought everyone to laughter. I will miss him. Physically, he was the strongest man I ever knew. He'd always let me win at am arm wrestle. What man, what a friend, what a cousin. He was a genuine encourager of the Faith. And by the way, he taught me how to milk the cows. Think I was 10 or so. Then he taught me how to shoot (a rifle). When I got my NRA certification, I owed it all to Alvin. Blessings to all the family, in Jesus' precious name --

Have fond memories of Cousin Alvin. He was graduating college when I left Canada at age 7, but as an adult, when we were in Canada, we always stopped by "the farm". We were always welcomed like family...er because we were! He was an athlete like I was, although I never set any discuss records. I got within 9 feet of his record, and in discuss, it might as well be a mile. Big Al...you are remembered fondly...see you in the morning big guy....cousin Dallas

My earliest memory of Alvin was when we moved to Arelee because my mom had married Steve Krivoshein. One of our first meals was at Aunt Olive's table. Alvin was a teenager then, and seemed so old and big since I was 10. Mom had them over soon and Al must have been in a growing spurt, because my mom took away his dinner plate and gave him a meat platter to eat from. He filled it up and enjoyed himself while we all smiled. He was a cheerful soul all his life.

Dear Linda and family
Our household was surprised and saddened to hear of Al's death. We know you will miss his presence, the twinkle in his eye, the smile.
Al was so kind and caring when my father was terminally ill. My mother said how Al would come when she called him, gently pick up my father, and place him in the bath tub. After his bath, Al would pick him up and place him back in bed. She (and we) appreciated so much his caring and patient manner with my father.
May the pleasant memories of decades past help ease the sadness of the present as you transition to the glad reunion in the near future. Esther and Steve Yaceyko

Precious cuzzies Linda, Mark, Todd and families: we share your deepest grief. Alvin is the last one in the tribe of the Krivoshein-Koleada families to exit the farm. Thank God for "The Blessed Hope," without which (to quote Paul), "We would be most miserable."

Dearest Linda, Mark, Todd and families-It is with sadness that I find myself writing these words to you knowing that someone I was privileged to call my friend is gone. Alvin was always an upbeat kind of guy who could always put a smile on your face or make you laugh. I will particularly miss the reminiscing and laughing about Struan-Arelee times. I am proud to say that Alvin always cherished family and friends above other things in life. We all will miss his smile and warmhearted way. With our deepest sympathy, Burton and Dana Karpow

I can't tell you how my heart breaks for you all. I will always remember and cherish the times our family spent with yours out at the farm, playing in the hay bales or absolutely fascinated as Todd put a chicken to sleep.Watching and hearing Uncle Al call the cows in... All those things that city kids think are cool! Or the times you guys would come over to our house on Columbia Dr. and watch Saturday night hockey and eat sloppy joe's. Uncle Al was always special to Darren and me. Such a larger than life man with a pure gentle heart.
My sincere condolences and prayers go out to Aunty Linda, Todd and Mark and the entire family. Love Sherri Dobroskay
