Amarendra Dasa Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 10, 2017.
Each one of us has a mission on this earth and a purpose in this existence. Our earthly life is but the first stage in our eternal spiritual development, and when the time is right, our soul, free as a bird, flies toward the more abundant life of God's unseen spiritual kingdom, our heavenly home. Those who remain on this side of the veil long to see our loved one again, and look forward to the moment our own earthly purpose is fulfilled and the eternal reunion takes place. Amarendra Dasa, a thoughtful, caring, sincere, and insightful soul, passed away early in the morning on Saturday, June 10, 2017, after a long and difficult battle with mental illness. The first of three sons born to Jenifer Runnion and Steve Hadachek, Amarendra is survived by his parents; older sister Sierra (Cecil Mininger) Hadachek; brothers Jeremiah (Christina) Macy, Caitanya Dasa, and Satya Dasa; nephews Ronin, Dane, and Talin; grandfather Leonard Hadachek; and a large family of aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by older brother Zack Landers, younger brother Aja Dasa, and grandparents Sarah Coburn and Alex and Lotta Runnion. Amarendra was born in Corvallis, Oregon, where he lived until moving to Spartanburg, South Carolina with his mother and brothers in 2012. He enjoyed outdoor activities, including being in the woods and going hiking, and loved animals, including playing with the family dog, Jasmine. He enjoyed playing outdoors with his friends and played football at the middle school of Philomath, Oregon. He played the drums and had hoped to one day make a career in music and develop talent in singing. He loved complex music and art with profound color and depth, enjoyed science and science fiction, and was fascinated by exploration and new ideas. From an early age, Amarendra showed a great deal of empathy and compassion for others and an interest in his own spiritual development that was both sincere and thoughtful. During the recent years of his life, Amarendra took great comfort in knowing he was loved and supported by friends and family, was consoled by the writings and prayers of the Baha'i Faith and Christianity, and was motivated to work to lead a meaningful life of service and being able to spend quality time with loved ones. Amarendra is deeply missed, and his family knows that his spirit, now freed from the limitations of this earthly life, will experience the joy and shelter of nearness to his loving Creator and reunion with his loved ones in the spiritual realm.
