JURKOVIC, Ana (Anuska) (nee alamon)
February 16, 1934 - Dragotin, Croatia
January 9, 2015 - Calgary, AB
It is with great sadness we mourn the passing of Ana (Anuska). After a lengthy illness, Ana passed away peacefully at her home, in her sleep in Calgary at the age of eighty. She joins her loving husband Marko, her mother and father Marija and Luka alamon, sister Vera Belancic and brother Duro alamon. She is survived by her beloved children Maria (Michael) Binnion, Martin Jurkovic, Johnny (Bozena) Jurkovic and Julia (Ivan) Dermanovic, grandchildren, who she cherished Marc, Julianna, Christina, Viktor, Ana, Katarina, Marko, Nikola and Marija, as well as numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Born in Croatia, she was the eldest of five children. She spent her youth caring for her siblings, whom she loved dearly. In 1958 she took a long journey to her new home and life in Canada. Here she married Marko and raised four children. She was very active in the church and community. Whether it was helping new citizens of Canada adjust to Calgary, sewing folklore costumes, baking or volunteering at the nursing home or church. Everything she did was always with love and a smile. Her loving hand and smile was always present in raising her children, grandchildren, in worship and her everyday life. She will be sorely missed. Please join her family in celebrating Ana's life. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at Our Lady of Marija Bistrica Croatian Catholic Church, (14680 Deer Ridge Drive SE, Calgary, AB) on Thursday, January 15, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Marija Bistrica Croatian Catholic Church on Friday January 16, 2015 at 11:00 am. Graveside Service to follow at Rockyview Garden of Peace Cemetery (16 Ave NE at Garden Rd). Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. In living memory of Ana Jurkovic, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park

Our deepest sympathies go out to all of you on the passing of Ana. She was the most beautiful lady inside and out. Anushka never passed me by without giving the biggest hugs and kisses. We shared a special moment every time we spoke with one another. She will be missed by all but also know that she is in a peaceful place now. You are in our hearts and prayers.
