Andrea Brothwell Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 5, 2025.
Andrea Ruth Brothwell passed away on March 23, 2025, in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. She was born on May 5, 1952, in Schenectady, New York, to Lucy D. (Wensley) Williams and Robert Fred Williams.

Andrea spent her early years in Ventura, California, and graduated from Buena High School in 1970. She went on to earn a Certificate of Completion in Industrial Maintenance Mechanics from Oxnard College in 1976. It was there she met Ron Brothwell, whom she married in 1979 after relocating to Sunnyvale, California.

Andrea built a long and successful career in the injection molding industry and retired after 27 years of dedicated service at Evco Plastics in Oshkosh. She brought passion and conviction to everything she did.

Known for her sharp wit and unforgettable one-liners, Andrea had a gift for humor that left no one untouched. Her creativity shone through her sewing and crafting talents-handmade dog beds for family pets, beaded jewelry, and whimsical candy jars were just a few of her many thoughtful creations.

A sixth-generation Chautauquan, Andrea found joy at the Chautauqua Institution, where she embraced every tradition-from porch time and puzzles to concerts at the Amp and high tea at the Athenaeum. It was her happy place, filled with laughter, learning, and love.

Andrea is survived by her daughter Sandy Barnes of Oshkosh, Wisconsin; brothers Monte (Alicia) Williams of Oshkosh Wisconsin and Jeff Williams (Barb Kastel) of Ventura California; niece Katie Williams of Oshkosh Wisconsin; nephews Jeremy Williams of Timnath, Colorado, and Matthew Williams of El Dorado Hills, California.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the animal shelter of your choice in honor of Andrea's deep love for dogs.

Posting a day early because I may be too busy to get on the computer tomorrow, and I want this post to be approved and up by then anyway. I will be especially thinking of Andrea and her family on her birthday. I'm sure it will be a really tough day for Sandy in particular, and I want to send my best wishes for a day of happy remembrances insofar as possible. Andrea would not want us to spend too much time mourning.

Andrea - My "Bat Crazy" friend and co-worker. I'm truly grateful for the time we shared. The uplifting conversation and laughter will forever be remembered. You now have your own wings to soar. Although, you will be missed. You will never be forgotten.

Fun loving, Witty and infectious smile that´s what comes to mind when I think of Andrea. Met her around 1968 in Chautauqua, we became summer friends right away. We worked at the original Saint Elmo. We would stay in contact over the years as work and family´s came into the picture. She always spoke of Ron, Sandy and her Brothers and their families, they all were a great part of her life. I´m glad we´re able to spend a bit of time the past summers at Chautauqua Institution. She appreciated being able to spend some time there..
Sadly we all will miss her smile and laughter.
Hugs to sandy and family

Andrea was a special person with a good heart, and we need more people like her. I mourn her loss, and my heart goes out to Sandy and her family. We all needed more time with her. RIP, Andrea.

I met Andrea through work but our bond grew through our love of crafting. I will think of you every time I pick out a necklace or bracelet to wear as you made and gifted me so many! I also thank you for Sandy, my sister from another mother, whose friendship I also treasure. You are missed!

I first met Andrea and Sandy at Evco Plastics in Oshkosh. We became fast friends at Evco and also outside of work. Andrea was very talented with her crafts, loved her dogs, but more importantly, she was a compassionate and caring human being. It was my honor to have spent time with her. After retirements we continued to spend a little time together at her Oshkosh home. I always had an open door there. We will miss Andrea but thankfully we have our memories and a continued friendship with Sandy.
Thank you Andrea for being a friend and co-worker !
