Andrea Galperin

Andrea Galperin passed away at the age of 69 on January 9, 2023, in West Hartford, Connecticut where she was in the process of moving to be closer to her son. Andrea passed due to complications of kidney failure and diabetes. She leaves behind her son Bennett and husband of 33 years, Robert. Andrea was an art teacher in Old Bridge, New Jersey for many years. For most of her career she taught in elementary schools. She finished her career at Old Bridge High School. Andrea took a special interest in incorporating art history into her lessons. She left such an impact, that many of her students wanted to become art teachers themselves, and she won teacher of the year at Madison Park Elementary School. Outside of her career, Andrea loved cruising and dogs, especially Penelope, whose ashes will be buried with her. Some of her happiest moments were in Bermuda. Andrea was looking forward to celebrating the wedding of Bennett to his fiance Mallory Edrich. Andrea will be extremely missed by her family and friends. Andrea's funeral will be held Friday, January 13th at Beth El and Beth Israel Temple Cemetery at 27 Jackson St., Avon, CT.
