Thank you so much to New Vista for putting on such a wonderful memorial the other day. I was beautiful hearing so many kind thoughts and feelings that dearest Andrea evoked from lots of people who give much of themselves working with our beloved elderly the way they do. Kudos on a beautiful service.

Never goodbye, only "until we meet again".
I will love you forever, Dad.

Mr Petruzzelli's eulogy as delivered by granddaughters Marina & Connie:
READER 1: (Marina)
"Andrea Petruzzelli was born in Bari, Italy on July 27, 1931, to his mother Teresa, and his father Nicola.
In 1957, he wed his wife of nearly sixty years, Maria, and together they raised three children, Nicola, Cosimo and Teresa, who, in turn, produced a total of ten grandchildren.
Andrea always demonstrated a wonderful sense of humour, and a deep-rooted passion for helping others. He was brilliantly gifted when it came to using his hands, and he was the kind of guy who could literally fix anything. He was a terrific mechanic who worked as tirelessly on bicycles as he did on motors. He was also a self-taught construction wizard, and he handled numerous chores expertly, such as electrical, plumbing, dry-walling, and even flooring. If you needed assistance with a fix-it job, you never had to ask Andrea twice. He was always there - ready to offer a solution."
READER 2: (Connie)
"This quality, above all, will earn Andrea the cherished distinction of being a truly good man. If, when someone passes on, those left behind can honestly state: Now, this was a good person; can there truly exist a more treasured compliment?
His long career as the chief maintenance person at the Canadian Battery Corporation in Richmond was a great example of how a thriving major business flourished primarily because Andrea kept some extremely complex machines running smoothly 24/7.
As his beloved wife Maria passed away last December, there is comfort to be felt at knowing that they have now, almost one year later been reunited in spirit.
There is no doubt that Andrea's loss will be felt for a long time. His three children, Nicola, Cosimo and Teresa, and his grand-children will never forget their Dad, or their beloved Nonno Andrea.
God bless you Andrea, and as you soar freely and without the chains of physical illness in your new life, fly like the highest bird in the sky.
Farewell, dear prince."

The Kitchener Lane between Renfrew and Nootka will never be the same again! The block has lost its most faithful handyman; a man who was always willing to lend a hand to his fellow neighbour. Bless you, Andy! Rest in peace!
