ANDREW I. DEUTSCH, Author of, Build Yourself Up without Limits, and

CO-FOUNDER OF Underearners Anonymous, DIES AT Age 70

(6/28/1952 - 7/19/2022)

A beloved soul and dear friend, Andrew Deutsch, a Rockland County resident and Nyack's one-and-only, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, July 19, 2022. He was 70 years old. "Funny," "brilliant," and "a gifted speaker" are some of the words used to describe Andrew. His big and generous heart and dedication to the service of others are what we will forever remember. Andrew's first career was in advertising and sales. The last fifteen years of his life were dedicated to the launch of a coaching practice and authoring his book, Build Yourself Up without Limits: A Strategy to Win in all Aspects of Your Life. His purpose, he said ,"was to help souls come out of hiding." Andrew coined several terms including "Powerfirmations" and "Museum States." These terms have been integral in helping people identify exactly what is holding them back from success and to assist them in achieving their highest potential. Andrew's transformational terms are frequently quoted by individuals all over the world. Many more of these "Museum States" can be found within the rich and poignant chapters of his book. In 2005, Andrew was divinely inspired to co-found a 12-step program specifically for people who are 'under-being,' unable to take the actions needed to realize their own potential despite obvious talents, education, and opportunities. Andrew donated thousands of hours of his time in serving thousands of people all over the world to recover from underearning and to actualize their true potential in all areas of their lives. He leaves behind a legacy of hundreds of empowerment groups and thousands of members around the world including the US. Andrew's irrepressible positive attitude and generous spirit impacted everyone he came into contact with. He taught people the invaluable lesson of not taking themselves, or life, too seriously and infused humor into everything he did. This spirit is even more significant when we understand Andrew's childhood. In addition to being a talented writer, speaker and comedian, (Andrew had a morning routine: make a cup of coffee, write a joke, do service), Andrew was also an accomplished and self-taught guitarist offering lessons throughout Rockland County. Andrew was honored both by an Orthodox Jewish burial and a creative Jewish Shiva service. He is laid to rest in the Catskills at the Chesed Shel Emes Cemetery, 113 Old Turnpike Road, Woodridge, Sullivan County, Upstate New York.

Andrew will be dearly missed by all and will remain in our hearts and minds forever.

I will ALWAYS remember Andrew's kindness. And his contribution to me and other souls who desperately want to come out of hiding and use the gifts God has given to them.

Andrea I´m just now seeing your obituary... In August 2024... I had moved out of Rocklin and I had no idea that you had passed. I hope your spirit is free... I do remember you as being so funny and kind and always having good people around you, my deepest condolences to your family and friends and it sounds like you were doing some really amazing things for the world that stemmed from the 12 step program- God bless your soul!!!

My name is Mehdi From Iran, I am deeply grateful for dear Andrew and I pray for his great soul to rest in peace and I am sure he is basking in light. Today, God's message through Andrew has spread in countries like Iran and is spreading all over the world every day. My life changed because of the message of the UA program and after the age of 39, I was able to brush my teeth regularly with the prayer-affirmation that I learned from Andrew, It's about 5 years I have been brushing my teeth every day, which was a fruitless effort for many years. had failed.

Andrew I am forever grateful to you for helping me come out of hiding. I am a better human for knowing you. I will carry on your legacy and your mission by doing this program to the best of my ability and helping others do the same. May you continue to be a blessing to all! Andrew helped me so much in UA! His love and dedication to the 12-step program of UA was beyond human. And, his book is really really good.

We all love Andrew very much - he would make everyone in the room (or the cave as you wish) feel special and appreciated and share his warmth, jokes and wisdom from a place of compassion.
