Andrew WATERMAN Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 12, 2023.
WATERMAN, Andrew David Tournai. 03 June 1949 to 08 January 2023. Tragically taken to soon, passed on the dawn of his mother's 100th birthday celebrations. After a brief battle with cancer. So loved and missed by family in the UK, and all of his Whanau in Northland. Laid to rest, beneath his paradise, on maungamimi, in Kaeo cemetery, carried there by the sound of the banjo from his grandson, Earthsong for a son of earth. A huge Thank you to the angels close by. Forever indebted, to them. The funeral services provided with such compassion and mindfulness, instantly. All the staff in those hospitals frequented and those that have been so supportive during this time. Humbled am I. I knew Andy when we were both at school in Winchester, Hampshire. We were about 15 years old and he was my first boyfriend. He would come round to my house before he bought his first motorbike & my Dad would take him home to Romsey at the end of the day. He got in touch with me very briefly , many years ago, I think he was back in the UK for a while. Sadly we didn´t meet up, I was very fond of him and why I thought to search him out now is strange. It was the name Tournai that I remembered, and knew that this was the Andy I once knew. I´m so sorry to read about his passing, I hope his family are coping and that they continue to enjoy their lives in NZ.
With very best wishes, I would love to hear from his family & know what his life in NZ was like.
