Angel Nelson Diaz, 77, died on July 11, 2020, at Hartford Hospital of congestive heart failure. Angel was
born on July 9, 1943 in Santa Isabel, Puerto Rico to the late Angel Diaz Cruz and Teodora Diaz Diaz. On
11/7/64, Angel married Rosaura Roche Diaz (deceased) and was a retired State of Connecticut, DMV,
employee where he worked for 20 years. Angel is survived by his children, Ivette (James Figueroa), Angel
(Susan) and Vilma Rivera-Saez, grandchildren Adam, Angelyka, Amanda and Jose. Angel is also survived
by fourteen brothers and sisters and leaves many nieces and nephews. Angel is predeceased by his
identical twin, Noe, and his youngest son, Amilcar.
Angel was an amazing son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was also a very loving,
caring, and loyal friend. He struggled with his health for many years but his faith in God kept him fighting
and his will to live was very admirable. Angel enjoyed working with his hands, listening to old Spanish
music, audio Scriptures and reading the Bible. Angel had many friends who respected and loved him,
there are a couple of people that deserve acknowledgement for their continued presence; Maria (Angelina)
Dejesus, Father James Aherne, his sister, Santita, who never let a day pass without her calling him to
check up on him and his son-in-law James (Chino) who became a very special person in Angel's life and
ensured that he lived the last years of his life as normal as possible.
The funeral will be held Saturday, July 25, 2020, 9AM at the Dillon Baxter Funeral Home 1276 Berlin Turnpike Wethersfield. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford at 10:45.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, July 24, 2020 at Dillon Baxter Funeral Home, from 6-8:30PM

Mi querido Ángel Díaz, mi padre, mi héroe. Te me fuistes para un lugar donde no sentirás más dolores, penas y sufrimientos. Ya se nos acabaron las luchas y peleas para mantenerte saludable y aquí. Fuistes un gran hombre, ejemplo y luchador. Me hace tanta falta oírte, verte y tocarte pero se que siempre estarás a mi lado, en mi alma y pensamientos. Descansa mi Ángel Diaz, y espero que te hayas encontrado con el Señor como siempre lo quisiste y que su reino sea como siempre lo imaginaste. Papi, te amo y siempre te amare.
