ANGELA LOUIS Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 1, 2022.
Angela Renee Louis was born on March 31, 1968 in Monroe, LA to the union of the late Evangelist Harriet Warren Louis and Deacon Hilton Louis, Sr. She attended Clark Elementary, Carroll Junior High, and graduated from Carroll High School, Class of 1986. She continued her education at Louisiana Tech University.
At a young age, Angela accepted Christ while attending Holy House of Prayer Church of God in Christ. As a teenager, she joined Unity Church of God in Christ under the leadership of her brother, the late Superintendent Donald Louis. As the church transitioned, she attended Spirit of Deliverance Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Elder Ronald Green. She remained a faithful member at Spirit of Deliverance Church of God in Christ until her calling home.
Angela's professional career included being a dedicated employee at EA Conway Hospital and Chase Bank. She also spent many years volunteering in her local community. She was an avid animal lover and butterfly enthusiast, serving as a surrogate mother to many lost pets throughout the years. Her loving and giving spirit will truly be missed.
Angela's love of music and Christ inspired her lifelong music ministry. For many years, she served as the choir director at Unity Church of God in Christ. She also served as president and choir director of Monroe District Choir. She was a member of Louisiana First Jurisdiction Choir under of the leadership of the late Bishop Roy L. H. Winbush. Angela's musical journey also include singing with One Body of Christ under the direction of her first cousin, David Starr, and Minister to My Spirit Ministries under the direction of Martavius Mims.
Affectionately called Angie Boo, she was known to be outspoken and honest. She would "shoot it straight from the hip" and spared no words when interacting with her family and friends. She was always the one to call on when someone needed honest advice filled with love and care.
Although Angela did not have a child of her own, she absolutely loved children. Throughout her life, she served as godmother to more children than we could name. Her family and friends will cherish all the memories of their Angie Boo for many years to come.
Angela was preceded in death by her mother, Evangelist Harriet Warren Louis; her father, Deacon Hilton Louis, Sr.; her three brothers, Charles Ray Louis, Superintendent Donald Ray Louis, and Elder Hilton Louis, Jr.; her nephew, Elder Hilton Christopher Louis; and her sister-in-law, Evangelist Shirley Louis.
She leaves to cherish her memories: the love of her life, Joseph Rhone; her two sisters, Elaine Oliver (Robert) of Shreveport, LA, and Regina Graham of Memphis, TN; her two brothers, Johnnie Lewis, Sr. (Diann) of Dallas, TX, and James Louis, Sr. (Cynthia) of Pensacola, FL.
She also leaves a host of godchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and church members to cherish her memories.
Angela's legacy is left through her unwavering devotion to her family, friends, church, and community. Her memory is cherished by all who knew her. She now takes rest from her earthly labor to receive her heavenly reward.
Sweet Rest, Angie Boo...
