Services for Anita Blackwell Peden will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Oak Grove Baptist Church in the Bonita community with the Rev. Roy Dabbs officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with James F. Webb Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.Mrs. Peden, 89, was a life long member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and served as Sunday school teacher and on several other committees in the church. She was a life long resident of Meridian until she moved to Hattiesburg, where her son resides.Survivors include one son, Chris and his wife Cindy; a grandson, Ray; a granddaughter, Mary Helen; and several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her mother, Effie Robinson Blackwell; her father, Shannon Blackwell; her husband of 42 years, Leonard Ray Peden; her sister, Earleen Blackwell Jones; and her brothers, Reuben Blackwell and Leroy Blackwell.Family and friends may sign the online guestbook at www.jamesfwebb.com.Visitation will be held today, from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
