Anka Malobabic

LORAIN -Anka Malobabic, (nee Krajnovich), age 87, of Lorain, died Wednesday January 19, 2011 at Anchor Lodge Nursing Home.
She was born in Glavace, Lika, Yugoslavia on January 12, 1924 and had been a long-time resident of Lorain. Mrs. Malobabic was formerly employed by the Lorain City School System where she served as the Head Cook at Southview High School. She retired in 1986 following 19 years of service with the school district. She was a member of St George Serbian Orthodox Church and was also a member of the K.S.S. Carica Milica (The Women's Auxiliary at St. George's). In her free time she enjoyed bowling and solving jigsaw puzzles; additional interests included NFL Football and following The Ohio State University football and basketball programs.
She is survived by her son Nick (Kimberly) Malobabic of Lorain, daughter Sally (Milo) Arsenovich of Buchanan, Michigan, by granddaughter Kaitlin Malobabic and grandson Niko Malobabic, along with her sister Mara Petrovich.
She was preceded in death by her husband Sava Malobabic in 1983, by her father Milovan Krajnovich in 1944, by her mother Petka (nee Brakus) Krajnovich, and by seven brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain, where a Parastas service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m.. Funeral services will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in St. George Serbian Orthodox Church (corner of East 33rd & Grove Avenue) Please meet at the church. Reverend Aleksa Pavichevich, Pastor of the church will officiate. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
